On notes of blackberry, blueberry and pepper, with a floral profile characteristic of the estate, the palate is long, complex and dense, with velvety, well-integrated tannins. We're big fans.

Gamay from old vines grown biodynamically and planted on seven hectares of single vineyard plots, spread around the Château, with soils of pink granite, feldspar, schist, mica, quartz... with bedrock outcropping in some places. Harvesting was done by hand in 16 kg crates. Natural vinification but non-traditional winemaking for Beaujolais, because of the total destemming. 24 days of maceration in concrete vats, gentle pressing, 22 months of aging in casks. Not fined nor filtered, very little sulfur.
Alexandra de Vazeilles
Alexandra de Vazeilles is the director of Château des Bachelards, a lively winemaker from the Beaujolais scenery.
