Moulin à Vent La Bruyère - 2022 - Raphaël Saint-Cyr

Domaine Saint-Cyr

On notes of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, pepper, hint of leather... The palate is consistent with the nose, crunchy and structured texture, it is probably the wine with the most depth among the cuvées of Saint Cyr. Long and pure finish.

100% Gamay from 55-year-old organic vines planted on the La Bruyère single-plot, close to the village of Thorins, on pink granitic soils. Manual harvest, with yields around 35 hl/ha. Vinification: in whole bunches, carbonic maceration for 21 days, fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Soft pressing, 10 months of aging, half in vats and half in old casks. Bottled at the estate without fining or filtration, just a micro-dose of sulfur at bottling.

The estate has now 23 hectares of vines in the Beaujolais, Chénas, Morgon and Moulin-à-Vent appellations. Respectful cultural...
