Camille et Mathias Marquet
Camille and Mathias Marquet are a pair of neo-vignerons in the Bergerac appellation, settled in the commune of Sigoules. Their estate began in 2008 with 17 hectares, but was soon scaled back to 13, and today has been further cut down to 10 ha, all to better focused their efforts towards producing only the highest quality grapes. The vines, planted between 45 and 90 years ago, are now quite old, and are situated within an environment rich in biodiversity. The estate has been certified organic by ECOCERT since 2010; they plough their soils, and treat the vines with homemade herbal tisanes in accordance with the lunar calendar. The vinifications are natural, without any additives save homeopathic doses of sulphur, and only at bottling, and only when needed! Camille and Mathias make natural wine that is perfectly sound and flawless! In other words, a young couple who have completely understood the challenges of our era, producing wines that are rapidly becoming as respected as they are respectable!
