Henri Chauvet
Henri Chauvet, child of the 1987 vintage, is a new winemaker based in Boudes in Auvergne. After quitting his job in insurance banks, he got his viticulture and oenology diploma, and trained alongside Jérôme Bressy in Rasteau, then with the legendary Thierry Allemand in Cornas. During a car trip through Auvergne, he immediately fell in love with the region “and its incredible terroirs”. Lucky him, an estate is for sale! 10 very beautiful hectares of Gamay, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on steep slopes. Henri took over the domaine during the spring of 2021 and began the conversion to organic farming. A winegrower with a clear conscience, super grounded in his vines, for whom natural wine is a means of achieving what he wishes to convey and transmit. A winegrower who respects the land and its sense of place, the grape varieties and the vintage, to offer us real terroir wines. The result is stunning from its first vintage, the juices are precise, pure, vibrant, no wonder the bottles are already snapping up!
