Burgundy
A complex nose with black fruits and soft spices, and a hint of minerals. The palate is dense, with lots of structure and power. A wine with the potential to age and evolve marvellously. Worth decanting in its youth.
Pinot Noir from old vines cultivated biodynamically and planted in 1952 in Morey Saint Denis, on a 0.70-hectare parcel on clay-limestone soils. Les Ruchots is located on the same rocky outcrop as Le Cos de la Roche, just below the Clos de Tart! The grapes are harvested by hand, and yields are kept under tight control. Vinification: 30% whole bunches, gentle pressing, 16 months of maturation in barrels that have seen several wines. Bottled without fining or filtration and in accordance with lunar cycles.
Cyprien Arlaud embodies the third generation of Domaine Arlaud, a relatively young family estate born in 1942 of the meeting and marriage between the Burgundian Renée Amiot and the Ardéchois Joseph Arlaud.
