MPG 2013 for Muscat Petits Grains. From vines facing northwest, on a windswept, clay-granite terroir. The estate has been certified organic by Ecocert since 2002, with the vines farmed biodynamically since 2006. As for vinification: overripe grapes harvested by hand, low yields (15 hl/ha), soft pressing of the whole bunches. Vinified with indigenous yeasts in 5-year-old barrels. Matured for 24 months in those same barrels.
Yves Canarelli
Yves Canarelli took over his grandfather’s vines in 1993. In 20 years, he has shifted his viticulture over to biodynamics, and reintroduced ancient grape varietals like Cargaghjolu Nero, which nearly went extinct in the 1960s.
