An extremely elegant vintage – it may be a natural sparkling pét-nat, but this wine could pass for a fine blanc de blancs Champagne, with lovely, delicate, well-balanced fruit aromas, and notes of flowers, biscuits, pear, and citron... This is what we’ll be sipping when sunny days return!
100% Chardonnay from vines farmed biodynamically and planted in the Basket Range region, very close to Brendon’s winery. The grapes are harvested by hand, with sorting in the vineyard, followed by direct pressing of whole bunches, fermentation with indigenous yeasts and maturation in ceramic eggs. Bottled with a little residual sugar remaining to create the effervescence. Neither filtered, nor fined, and no added sulphites.
Brendon Keys may have the look of an overgrown teenage skateboarder, but don’t be fooled – this is a vigneron to be taken seriously!
