Fanino - 2022 - Gabrio Bini
Serragghia
A ruby robe, and a rich nose of ripe fruits, with floral and cinnamon notes. Palate: with lovely structure, this is luscious, mineral juice, with plenty of freshness, and lively tannins! Ever evolving in the glass, this is unstable, volcanic stuff – a voyage in a glass!

A blend of Catarratto and Pignatello, from 135-year-old wild vines, farmed biodynamically and planted on Pantelleria, a volcanic island located between Tunisia and Sicily. Harvested by hand with very low yields. Vinification: the grapes are 100% destemmed, followed by maceration in terracotta amphorae, with indigenous yeasts, zero additives, and 7 months of maturation in amphorae. This is pure, unfiltered, unfined juice, without added sulphur. A rare, exceptional cuvée.
Gabrio Bini
Gabrio Bini, 70 years young, lives and works on Pantelleria, a tiny volcanic island in the strait of Sicily, halfway between Sicily and Tunisia. The neighbour of Bond-girl-turned-winemaker Carole Bouquet, Bini has had several lives as well: architect in Milan, right-hand to a (very) big name in haute couture, before becoming consumed with a passion for this island – and for natural wines....
