Rhône Valley
La Siesta - 2023 - Julien Mary
Domaine de la Goguette
A very light red wine, notes of strawberry and flowers, the palate is lively and fresh, in the style of a Tavel. A juice that will match with "La Siesta" (or "The Nap") on Sunday afternoon lying in the vines, in the sun, with friends, to "La Fiesta" ("The Party") on Saturday evening!

A blend of Syrah, Viognier, and Grenache, it's a "blouge" for "blanc" (white) + "rouge" (red). From old vines aged 30 to 50 years, organically farmed and planted on clay-sandy soils for the Syrah, and clay-limestone soils for the Viognier and Grenache. Hand-harvested. Vinification: 50% direct press of Grenache and Syrah, and 50% carbonic maceration for 8 days on Viognier and Syrah. Aged on fine lees in concrete tanks for 7 months. Bottled at the estate, unfined, unfiltered, and with just a tiny dose of sulphur.

Finally, backpacker at heart, Julien travels a little further than Lille... 100,000 km of...
