Libre Expression - 2022 - Pauline et Pierre-Olivier Laurent
Cantalauze
Nose carried by notes of black fruits, particularly blackcurrant, before evolving towards pepper and a subtle vegetal touch. Fleshy and powerful on the palate, "libre expression" meaning "freedom of expression/speech", this wine is definitely free and unshackled by convention.

A blend of half Duras and half Braucol, from organically-grown vines planted on clay-limestone soils in the village of Cahuzac-sur-Vère, harvested by hand at full maturity. Vinification: total destemming, crushing, two weeks of maceration in concrete vats with daily pumping-over. Gentle pressing in a pneumatic pressing, 10 months of aging in these same concrete vats. Bottled on the estate without fining or filtration, and sulfites are used only sparingly.
