A nose both floral and fruity, with redcurrant, peony, and a touch of toast. On the palate, the 2023 vintage takes it up a notch: Uchida’s style has evolved and matured, with a velvety texture and perfectly structured, integrated tannins. The whole remains smooth and fruit-forward.

A different blend for the 2023 vintage, with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, from organically farmed vines planted just meters away from Château Mouton Rothschild. Hand-harvested, naturally vinified without additives: co-fermentation of both varieties, with the Cabernet Sauvignon fully destemmed while the Merlot retains 30% whole clusters. Brief aging on lees in vats before bottling at the estate in February 2024. Unfined, unfiltered, with no added sulfites.
Osamu Uchida
Osamu Uchida, born of the 1977 vintage, grew up in Hiroshima but was educated in French culture from a very young age – his parents were wine merchants! He was barely in his twenties when he decided to head off to the land of Molière to immerse himself in French language… and wine! By the end of his first stay, it was the welcome he’d received from the many vignerons he visited that convinced...
