Alsace
Pinot Noir Granite - 2017 - Jean Dietrich - Magnum
Domaine Achillée
Real love for this cuvée! Strawberry and crushed raspberry, black cherry, rose water, coffee, undergrowth, chocolate orangette… Pure, tannic and mineral palate, lifted by a hint of acidity, a highly digestible red wine. Worth decanting.

100% Pinot Noir from 50- to 100-year-old vines, grown biodynamically and planted on granitic soils. Manual harvesting and natural vinification: three weeks of maceration in whole bunches, gentle pressing, very long aging, four years in the cellar for 60% in Burgundy barrels with several new barrels, and 40% in stainless steel vats. Blending of the vats and barrels then bottling in 2021, without fining, filtration or added sulfites.

They were already off to a very good start, since the entire estate has been cultivated biodynamically since 2003. 18 hectares preserved from chemicals located in Scherwiller, right between Strasbourg...
