Beaujolais
Fleurie - 2022 - Jean Foillard - Magnum
Jean Foillard
A beautiful ruby colour, a nose with notes of blackcurrant and flowers: wilted roses, iris... Beautiful concentration and complexity. This is a crisp, fruity, dense juice, with lovely volume! A cuvée that, like all of Foillard’s wines, will age beautifully.

100% Gamay from vines planted on soils of pink granitic sand. Jean has farmed organically from the beginning but has never sought certification. As for the rest, it’s tradition at work: harvesting by hand, vinification of whole bunches, cold carbonic maceration, 9 months of maturation in barrels that have seen several wines, no filtration, and just a light dose of sulphites during racking.

Jean Foillard
Jean Foillard, P'tit Jean to his friends, joined his family’s estate of 8 hectares in 1981. Son and grandson of vignerons, one could say it was simply in the order of things that he’d return to the fold. Today, the renown of his wines has made him a revered giant of Beaujolais. At the celebrated Côte de Py vineyard site, Jean creates natural wines while following the precepts of Jules Chauvet....
