Philippe Jambon
Philippe Jambon has been settled in Chasselas since 1997. Former sommelier, he is one of our most committed vignerons, working just a small vineyard of around 5 ha. He chose his parcels in part based on how isolated they were from other vineyards – the further the better! Philippe had figured out early on that it was pointless to be clean and chemical-free in your vines if the neighbour is spraying poisons on his all year long. The man is honest, calm and extremely competent. An expert on Gamay, Philippe also produces a few unconventional whites, including one matured in barrel for 99 months... His range is rounded out by negotiant cuvées he produces with grapes from other vineyards: Danse avec une tranche, Une tranche fleurie, etc…. In terms of viticulture, Philippe stepped back from biodynamics to return to organics. The vinifications are all natural, without additives. Philippe has practiced zero sulphur since 2000. He also naturally pulled out (like so many) of the tyranny and restrictions of the AOC labelling system.
