Jordi Llorens
Jordi Llorens ranks among the essential winemakers of Catalan natural wine. Trained as a geologist, Jordi returned about ten years ago to his family roots, taking over an estate that today covers 15 hectares in Blancafort, in the Conca de Barbera. Wine, after all, is certainly in Jordi’s blood, as an eighth generation vigneron! His ambition has been to produce healthy, ecological and high quality wines. Extremely attentive to his soils – located at an altitude of about 600 metres – this sensitive and ever humble winegrower works tirelessly to produce exceptional wines, following the principles of biodynamics. Part of a select group of natural vignerons, including Laureano Serres and Joan Ramon Escoda, together they share a common philosophy of wine (and life!): a precise approach to vine cultivation and a zero-additive policy applied in the cellar – not even a gram of sulphur. So what’s the result? Cuvées full of freshness and authenticity, which brilliantly transmit all the aromas of Conca de Barbera.
