A complex nose with black fruits and soft spices, and a hint of minerals. The palate is dense, with lots of structure and power. A wine with the potential to age and evolve marvellously. Worth decanting in its youth.
Cyprien Arlaud
Cyprien Arlaud embodies the third generation of Domaine Arlaud, a relatively young family estate born in 1942 of the meeting and marriage between the Burgundian Renée Amiot and the Ardéchois Joseph Arlaud. Forty years later, in 1983, their son Hervé Arlaud took over the reins of the vineyard and continued to enlarge it. He initiated numerous changes, and by 2004 the wines of the Arlaud estate had become organic, and by 2009 biodynamic, certified since 2014. The estate now extends over 15 hectares, including Guy Coquard's vines, taken over on a leasehold basis following his retirement in 2004. In 2013, Cyprien assumed the management of the estate, assisted by his brother Romain and his sister Bertille, who is in charge of the estate’s two draught horses. All three have embraced a resolutely modern vision of classic winemaking. Wines that are always very elegant, fine and pure, and boasting the promise of ageing for years to come.
A very fresh and fruity nose, with notes of small red berries: raspberry, redcurrant, and cranberry... Palate: yet again a cuvée with great freshness, both suave and energetic. A very elegant wine.
A nose with notes of blackberries and a hint of undergrowth. Very lovely structure on the palate, fine and pronounced tannins, and a rounded, silky finish. Be patient and put it in the cellar a few years, this cuvée will make it well worth the wait!
A complex and very aromatic nose of violet and black fruits. A full-bodied palate, powerful, with very beautiful structure, and marked minerality. Wait a few years, this cuvée is sure to express itself in the most beautiful way after a period in the cellar.
A nose carried of black fruits, wild strawberry and sandalwood. An exquisitely delicate palate with a vibrant and chiselled structure, at once complex and bewilderingly luscious. You'll have to wait a few years to fully enjoy it!
A nose with notes of blackberry, sandalwood and orange liqueur. The palate boasts impressive volume, very beautiful tannins, and incomparable richness and texture. A wine of outstanding purity and elegance.
An opulent nose of black fruits and blackberry, with a hint of long pepper. The palate is fleshy with beautiful structure, yet gentle and boasting endless length... Let this wait in your cellar for a few years…
A few words from the Domaine: "The wines from this Cru are airy and fluid. The aromas are often reminiscent of pomegranate and redcurrants. This makes this Premier Cru a perfectly digestible, delicate wine."
