Julien Labet
Julien Labet is one of the most dynamic figures of the Jura today. The son of winegrowers, today he runs his family estate, with the support of his parents and his siblings, Charline and Romain. Situated in Rotalier (also home to Domaine Jean-François Ganevat), Domaine Labet is on its way to becoming as much of a cult estate as its famous neighbour. The bottles are rare and prized by connoisseurs all over the world – and with good reason! Julien makes some incredible juice – single vineyard cuvées of immense purity and great richness, from thirteen hectares of old vines divided into 45 parcels, spread over four communes. A few words from Julien: “It’s these vines that you hear speaking through the wines, each from a different terroir, each with its own personality. They all tell the story of a tiny piece of the planet. As vignerons, we are but the interpreters of a score already written by nature. We choose the location, plant and cultivate the vines, then accompany the wine, giving it a cradle in which to grow and develop.”
