Biancospino, hawthorn in English, offers a complex nose which is also very fresh with notes of tangerine, apricot, passionfruit, honey, and hazelnut. Powerful and fine palate, a wine of maceration with light tannins which will be fantastic paired with a cheese platter.
Francesca et Margherita Padovani
Francesca and Margherita Padovani are the sisters at the head of Domaine Fonterenza, in Montalcino, Tuscany. An adventure that goes back to…1997! After moving from Milan, they took over the reins of the family farm, and along the way, decided to produce their wine according to the principles of organic farming. Clap of thunder in Montalcino, where we had not seen or drunk organic Sangiovese for far too long. A bold choice at the time, but what a great success! Francesca and Margherita are now inspiring and setting an example for many winegrowers who would like to follow the same path. The concomitance of the climate influenced by the sea and the mountains, the slopes and the exceptional terroir of Fonterenza, the hard and meticulous work of the two sisters, delivers wines that are ever purer and more authentic. Some of them already enjoyable in their youth, and very, very beautiful bottles that concentrate what is best made in Montalcino.
