It’s fruity and fresh, this is a Cabernet Franc just as we love it, a bottle to uncork with some friends at an aperitif, carried by notes of crunchy and juicy red fruits.
Pierre et Rodolphe Gauthier
Pierre Gauthier, from the Domaine du Bel Air, is a monument of Loire viticulture, one of the heroes of Bourgueil appelation. His great-grandfather, a pottery worker in the small village of Benais, decided in 1880 that he wanted to create something else with this beautiful soil, and began to cultivate it. Phylloxera passes by, the parcels that are suitable for vines are very affordable at this time, he acquired a few plots where he planted grafted vines, and began this alchemy of fermentation. The Estate is transmitted from father to son, André Gauthier passes the torch to his son Pierre, who has it certified organic in 2000 and becomes a true defender of wine as our ancestors made it: selection of cuvées according to the terroirs, restoration of the last Clos of the village, long vinifications, aging in the cellar to have "haute-couture" wines, complex and for laying down. Today, the transmission continues through Rodolphe, who produces sublime wines, for memorable tastings.
