Julien Mary
Julien Mary grew up in Uzès in a winery, with a winegrower and horse breeder father, and an agricultural engineer grandfather. His family first tries to keep him away from this difficult and sometimes unrewarding environment, so Julien left to study in Lille with the aim of becoming a science journalist. Finally, backpacker at heart, Julien travels a little further than Lille... 100,000 km of adventures, two years hitchhiking between Alaska and Ushuaia. He returned to France at Christmas 2016: 26 years old and the strong desire to work in the wine industry, because the Proust’s madeleines of his trip were the smells of cut grass, of the fermenting vats, etc. Julien meets Nicolas Renaud of Clos des Grillons, where he stayed for almost 5 years, until the 2021 harvest, while passing his viti-oeno diploma. On the 1st of January 2021, he took over a cellar and 2.5 ha of vines on three different parcels (today 5.5 ha), the Domaine de la Goguette was born! A great guy and top juices, we are proud to present his first vintage.
