Complex nose with notes of chalk, hazelnut, pear and a hint of lemon. Taste: great elegance, great finesse, fine, evanescent bubbles, finish with beautiful and fine bitters.
Sébastien Mouzon
Sébastien Leroux, 43, is at the head of Mouzon-Leroux Champagnes, heir to a family whose winegrowing roots go back to the 18th century. He grew up in the vineyards of Verzy, passed his diploma in winegrowing and then returned to the estate in 2002, where he assisted his parents Pascale and Philippe until 2008. At the age of 28, in 2008, he was hit hard by the global crisis, and opened his eyes to a liberalist society that didn't suit him. Porgram changes: he left for Senegal with Pierre Rabhi's association for agro-ecology missions. Back at the estate, he undertook radical changes: conversion to biodynamic viticulture in 2008, agroforestry in 2011 with the planting of 1000 trees in the vineyards, massal selection of old vines, no more sulfites. Today, with 60 plots on 8 hectares, Sébastien produces natural, digestible, brilliant Champagnes, with a beautiful verticality, that perfectly reflect the terroir.
