Matthieu Goury and Guillemette Renard
Matthieu Goury and Guillemette Renard are the couple behind Domaine de Chevillard, rooted in Saint-Pierre-d’Albigny, Savoie, since 2016. Both are locals through and through — Matthieu grew up right in the hamlet of Chevillard, which now lends its name to the domaine. Coming from a family of farmers, he always knew he wanted to work the land. With no vineyards to inherit, he kicked off his winemaking journey at Château de la Violette. Soon enough, the village elders entrusted him with a few plots — steep, rugged, and full of character. Little by little, he pieced together around 5 hectares, and Domaine de Chevillard was born. Guillemette, a former radio host, trained in herbal medicine and now ensures the well-being of the vines through the power of plants. Together, they converted the vineyards to organic and biodynamic farming, eventually expanding to 11 hectares. Deeply grounded and intimately connected to their terroir, they craft elegant cuvées from native grape varieties of Savoie.
