A concentrated nose, with notes of tart red fruits and smoke... Palate: subtle and smooth, and very mineral.
Tom Lubbe
Tom Lubbe hails from South Africa. In France, he was one of the finest students of Gérard Gauby, thanks to whom he met Nathalie, Gérard’s sister, with whom he settled in 2001 in Calce, in a still unspoilt environment, where they founded the Domaine Matassa. After starting out small, the estate would slowly grow in size. Tom would acquire old, high altitude parcels where he produces delicate wines, especially whites, marked by their freshness. Like Gérard Gauby’s estate, Matassa is certified organic. They don’t practice biodynamics to the letter, as it doesn’t translate perfectly in this context, nevertheless handmade preparations are concocted from plants that grow all around the estate. The lunar calendar is also perfectly respected for all vineyard activities (pruning, vine treatments, harvest, racking, bottling). The use of sulphur is rare and test results are often stunning, showing less than 7 mg/litre.... Yes, these wines are natural in every way.
Fruity notes on the nose: fresh blackberries, blackcurrants and blueberries... A still rosé, with very little perceptible gas, a tasty and easy-drinking juice!
A major success for the estate, a wine with a captivating nose, notes of stewed yellow fruits – citrus, quince, and linden flower... Simply superb. The palate is structured, smooth and balanced, with a saline finish.
El Carner means "The Ram" in the Catalan language... A wine that barrels ahead and overturns the rules! Successively red, rosé, or orange, with notes of cherry stone, nectarine, and thyme... The tannins are quite present, the acidity pleasant, and the finish is lovely and long.
In the Catalan language, Romanissa means “the place where the Rosemary grows”. A delicate nose with notes of red fruit and flowers... A precise palate, easy drinking, with flavours evoking fine Pinot Noir... An engaging, aromatic palette, with silky tannins.
Olla in the Catalan language means "the pot", in which we find here some white peach, apricot, grapefruit, yuzu, elderflower, a very exotic and summery profile! A thirst-quenching cuvée, very easy drinking and light. And this pot has 10.5% ABV, so you can dive right in!
A superb, racy wine... The palate is complex with lovely density, and a saline finish. A cuvée that's far more precise compared to previous vintages. A slender, tense juice.
Raspberry, cranberry, juniper berry, a hint of smoke. A fine, delicate juice with soft tannins, the palate is fluid and fresh, perfectly balanced. A rare cuvée to be sipped with the utmost care.

A tangy juice with notes of small red berries, led by wild strawberry. This is pure Matassa style: fresh, juicy, easy-drinking, with probably the finest, most elegant tannins of the estate. Bursting with passion fruit aromas—eccentric and exotic!
Captivating nose, complex and subtle, with notes of apricot tart, yellow plum, quince, white flowers, and dried herbs. On the palate: almost a hint of light maceration, incredibly pure and highly drinkable.
