A nose with notes of blackberries and a hint of undergrowth. Very lovely structure on the palate, fine and pronounced tannins, and a rounded, silky finish. Be patient and put it in the cellar a few years, this cuvée will make it well worth the wait!
Pinot Noir from old vines cultivated biodynamically and planted in 1972 on a 0.16-hectare parcel of clay-limestone soils. The soil is ploughed with horses, while green harvesting, leaf thinning and harvesting are all done by hand, and yields are kept under tight control. Vinification: 30% whole bunches, gentle pressing, 16 months of maturation in oak barrels. Bottled without fining or filtration and in accordance with lunar cycles.
Cyprien Arlaud embodies the third generation of Domaine Arlaud, a relatively young family estate born in 1942 of the meeting and marriage between the Burgundian Renée Amiot and the Ardéchois Joseph Arlaud.
