Burgundy
Les Plantes - 2022 - Talloulah et Hugo Mathurin - Magnum
Domaine de Cassiopée
Complex, powerful nose that’s expressive yet elegantly balanced: pear, citrus, white flowers... On the palate, it’s round and precise with great volume, and the finish seems to go on forever. Once again, absolutely delicious, but are we really surprised when it’s made by Cassiopée?

100% Chardonnay from 6-year-old vines, organically grown on terraced plots with clay-limestone soils and grey marls. Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, with natural vinification: direct pressing, 12 months of aging in barrels with no new oak. Bottled at the estate in late August 2023, unfined and unfiltered, with a micro-dose of volcanic sulfur (0.5 g/hl) added before bottling.
Talloulah et Hugo Mathurin
Talloulah Debourg and Hugo Mathurin, children of the 1994 vintage, studied oenology in Bordeaux. Hugo went to Domaine Roulot, then spent two years at Domaine Mugnier. As for Talloulah, she started at Clos de Tart and ended up with Marie-Thérèse...
