A complex wine with a powerful nose of kirsch cherry, cocoa, orange peel and pepper... It is beautifully balanced and elegant, thanks to a taut, fresh palate, a fine expression of crisp Pinot. Tapis Rouge means Red Carpet, and we climb its stairs with delight!
100% Pinot Noir from vines in conversion to organic farming (since they're a young estate!), planted in 1978 in the commune of Saint-Bris-le-Vineux in the Yonne department, on a high, South-facing limestone plateau. Manual harvest. Vinification: 10% of direct press and 90% of whole bunches that macerate for 12 days with one or two punchings of the cap, gentle pressing, one year of aging in barrels without racking. Bottled at the estate on the 9th of September 2024 without fining or filtration, zero added sulphur.
Mélissa Bazin and Romain De Moor are at the helm of the young estate La Petite Empreinte, with a first vintage vinified in 2020. Well... first in their own name!
