Champagne
Les Fervins - 2018 - Sébastien Mouzon
Champagne Mouzon Leroux
A memorable tasting for this rare bottle that encapsulates the diversity and aromatic complexity of Champagne. Pear, candied lemon, hazelnut, toasted bread, mineral framework... The palate is vinous, with a long, saline and salivating finish.

Blend of the seven grape varieties of Champagne, the vines are grown biodynamically and planted on the Fervins parcel, which has clay-limestone soils over flint: Arbane, Chardonnay, Petit Meslier, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in equal proportions; on the Grand Cru in Verzy. Harvested by hand. Vinification: fermentation and ageing on total lees in barrels, ageing on laths, disgorging in October 2023, without a dosage of 1gr/liter. Unfined, unfiltered, just a tiny pinch of sulfites. Only made form the 2018 harvest.
Sébastien Mouzon
Sébastien Leroux, 43, is at the head of Mouzon-Leroux Champagnes, heir to a family whose winegrowing roots go back to the 18th century. He grew up in the vineyards of Verzy, passed his diploma in winegrowing and then returned to the estate in 2002, where he assisted his parents Pascale and Philippe until 2008. At the age of 28, in 2008, he was hit hard by the global crisis, and opened his eyes...
