Corsica
A powerful nose, with notes of red fruits and blackcurrant. A complex palate, with subtle notes of smoke and minerals, elegant tannins and a long finish. A cuvée de garde, intended for laying down, with wood aromas present in its youth.
A blended cuvée (prepare yourself): Morescola, Morescono, Aleatico, Carcajolo Nera, Montanaccia, Sciacarello and Nielluccio, grown ongranite sands. The vines are 60 years old and farmed biodynamically since 2000, with horse ploughing, green cover between the rows, and sheep grazing through the winter. Vinification: hand picking, low yields, destemming, cap punching over 15 days, maturation in 600-litre barrels that have seen several wines. Light filtration, sensible use of sulphur. A cuvée for connoisseurs, only 2000 bottles produced.
