A rich, complex nose with aromas of ripe fruit, spices, and hazelnut... Palate: intense, slightly sweet, with a long finish... Great ageing potential: 15 years or more.
A 100% Cortese cuvée cultivated at the top of a slope of clay-limestone soils, facing south and wind-swept by winds coming off the sea. Yield 50 hl/ha. Vinification: macerated 3 days, matured in 25-hl acacia wood barrels for 15 months. Zero sulphites added at bottling. In Stefano’s words: "Montemarino is a mysterious feminine soul. Fascinating, indefinable, impossible to locate. It’s everywhere and nowhere. It’s the contrary of Filagnotti. It’s a wine that leads you to contemplation, suggesting, but never saying it all.
