A nose with notes of sherry, apricot, honey, almonds, and brown sugar... A smooth and balanced palate, with lovely volume and candied fruit finish. A delight at the end of a meal – to be served chilled.
A macvin (vin de liqueur or a fortified wine) produced from Chardonnay and Savagnin from vines planted on clay-limestone soils, over different parcels of the Estate. The Marvin is made of one-third of marc aged in 228-litre barrels, and two-thirds fresh grape juice. Blend of vintages, long maturation in barrels before a bottling at the estate on the 18th of August 2022, with sulfites used only sparingly.
Marin Fumey, a young purebred Jura winegrower, has always bathed in Vin Jaune! His parents Adeline and Raphaël founded the estate in 1986 with only 56 acres of vines. While it remains a family affair, today Fumey-Chatelain totals sixteen hectares of vines in the process of being converted to organics.
