2019 was a frost-plagued year, and more than 90% of the estate’s harvest was lost. To make a single Ploussard wine would require blending the remaining grapes from every one of the estate’s parcels. This cuvée is the product of vines planted by four generations of the same family. Harvested by hand, the yields were obviously miniscule. As it was a warm vintage, the grapes spent less than a week in the vat, in order to produce a well-balanced wine with potential for ageing. Matured in barrels, bottled without fining, filtration or sulphur.

Tony Bornard is the son of the famous Jura figurehead Philippe Bornard , today retired. They are neighbours of the famous Pierre Overnoy, andhey reside in the oldest building in the village of Pupillin. Tony struck out on his own to quietly create his estate as well in 2013. He then took over the family estate from his father in 2017, merging it together with the estate he’d personally...
