70% Chenin and 5% Cabernet Franc from organically farmed vines on the small “La Guerrière” plot in Saint-Germain-sur-Vienne. Hand-harvested and blended with 20% Chardonnay and 5% Grolleau Gris. Vinification: direct press of all four grape varieties, followed by alcoholic fermentation in new barrels. The wine is then aged 3/4 in vats and 1/4 in barrels. Bottled at the estate without fining, filtration, or added sulfites.
Sophie and Clément Maire-Kurdziel, just in their early forties, are respectively from Moselle and Aveyron in France, and met at the university in Montpellier. Both became oenologists, they worked for large Estates in France and abroad, before returning to the Loire Valley.
