Crimson Pinot Noir - 2017 - Helen Masters
Ata Rangi
A great introduction to Helen Masters' winemaking talent, this Pinot is all about fruit and indulgence. Black cherry, blackberry jam, and fresh raspberry, lifted by a smoky touch, red plum, and allspice. Fine, supple tannins.

100% Pinot Noir, from young vines between 5 and 20 years old, farmed organically, and selected from several parcels on the terraces of Martinborough. Harvested by hand in March 2017, followed by 6 days of pre-fermentation maceration, with indigenous yeasts, some punching of the cap, three weeks of maceration in vats, and finally malolactic fermentation and maturation for nine months in oak barrels, 20% of which are new.
