Châteauneuf du Pape "Les Vieilles Vignes" - 2012 - Stan Wallut
Domaine de Villeneuve

70% Grenache, 16% Mourvèdre, 8% Syrah, 4% Cinsault and 2% Clairette. The vines are between 35 and 100 years old. Viticulture: hand tilling of soil, grass covers between rows to limit vine vigour, no chemicals. Vinification: use of gravity, simple and natural. The fermentations are by individual grape variety, with cap-punching. Maturation: 18 months, 80% in vats on fine lees and 20% in barrels (1/3 new oak).
