Rhône Valley
A complexe and deep nose with notes of black fruits and spices, the palate is voluminous, voluptuous, and round, with crisp fruit. A long finish... Pure class. It is already drinkable in its youth but it will get more and more elegant if you can wait a few years!
70% Grenache, 16% Mourvèdre, 8% Syrah, 4% Cinsault and 2% Clairette. The vines are between 35 and 100 yo. From a vineyard located in the northern reaches of the appellation, great geological diversity: clays, silt, pebbles, fine sands... Viticulture: hand tilling of soil, grass covers between rows to limit vine vigour, no chemicals. Vinification: use of gravity, simple and natural. The fermentations are done by individual grape variety, with cap-punching. 18 months of aging, 80% in vats on fine lees and 20% in barrels (1/3 new oak).
Stanislas Wallut stands alone today at the helm of this estate which he took over alongside the Roy de Blicquy family in 1993. An estate built from the ground up, 8.5 hectares located in the commune of Orange, in the northern part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.
