A 100% Syrah cuvée, from vines around 40 years old grown on clay-limestone and loam soils. Issued from a superb terroir between Cornas and Saint Joseph, in the commune of Cornas in the Arlettes area. Manual harvest and controlled yields, around 30 hl/ha. Vinification: total destemming, two weeks of fermentation, soft pressing, matured 11 months in concrete vats. Unfined, light filtration and just a tiny dose of sulphur at bottling.
Matthieu Barret has been making wine at Domaine du Coulet since 1998.
