You know we love La Negra, and vintage after vintage, the bottle hase the same clear intentions: to give us maximum pleasure. It simply breathes its creator’s mastery, competence… and love. Fruity, floral, a well-balanced, fresh and elegant wine.
A blend of 85% Carignan and 15% Grenache from 85-year-old vines grown organically and co-planted on sandy-granite soils. Manual harvest on the 30th of August 2024. Vinification: semi-carbonic maceration for 12 days with the indigenous yeasts in stainless steel vats, soft pressing. Short aging in barrels that have seen several wines, for three months. The barrels mostly come from Burgundy’s Fred Cossard. Unfined, unfiltered, just a micro-dose sulphur at bottling (1 gr/hl).
Laurence Manya-Krief is sincere, upright, and determined... Formerly a sales director in ready-to-wear fashion, at 35 years old she dropped her career for a life of vines. Today, our taste buds are thrilled that she did! She may be petite, but she cultivates some of the most difficult plots in France. Her steep slopes are completely incompatible with mechanised farming, so she depends instead...
