100% Riesling from biodynamically-grown vines planted between 1980 and 1995 in a north-facing locality, on terraced plots with granitic soils. Harvested by hand. Natural winemaking: direct pressing, then fermentation and ageing in old barrels for 12 months, on the lees. Bottled at the estate on the 29th of September 2024, without fining or filtration, just a micro-dose of sulfur has added during the pressing.
JÉRÔME FRANÇOIS
Jérôme François settled in Ostheim in 2014. The young carpenter couldn’t resist the call of the vine and started his estate with a few plots from his grandfather and the barn of his great uncle! Late 2017, Jérôme teamed up with Yann Bury. The man grows his vines biodynamically, and works the soil not with a tractor but with two horses, Sirus and Fastochex. A flock of black Ouessant sheep...
