Le Clos des Bachelards Monopole - 2020 - Alexandra de Vazeilles
Château des Bachelards
Sublime, a memorable tasting, where you don't immediately suspect Gamay, so elegant and concentrated on the palate. Notes of violet, blackberry, blueberry, leather... Velvety tannins of great finesse, very silky texture, great depth.

Gamay from very old vines, 70 to 100 years old, grown biodynamically on Le Clos des Bachelards. This 1.8-hectare vineyard surrounded by walls shows soils of pink granite and decomposed feldspar with blue marl and blue clay. After destemming, maceration for 28 days in concrete vats, gentle pressing and aging for 22 months in casks. Unfined, unfiltered, sulfites are used only sparingly.
