Saint Amour - 2021 - Alexandra de Vazeilles
Château des Bachelards

100% Gamay from biodynamically-grown vines, planted halfway up the hill, on South-facing parcels that show deep and granitic soils, with veins of loess and clay. Harvesting was done by hand, and the grapes are then moved by gravity. Natural vinification, in a way that is not traditional from Beaujolais, since it started with a full destemming. 28 days of maceration in concrete vats, gentle pressing, 18 months of aging in casks and demi-muids. Bottled at the Château without fining or filtration, sulfites are used only sparingly.
