Tentation Syrah - 2023 - Jean Claude Lapalu
Domaine Jean-Claude Lapalu
"The only way to get rid of temptation (tentation) is to yield to it", said Oscar Wilde... What else? Cherry, pomegranate, cinnamon, nutmeg. Velvety mouthfeel, crisp tannins, it's a success.

100% Syrah from organic vines planted in Villé-Morgon, on decomposed granite terroirs. Jean-Claude bought the grapes from a winegrower who no longer wanted to vinify this grape variety, so the Tentation (temptation!) was too great for Jean-Claude to not take tem! Harvested by hand. Natural vinification: maceration in whole bunches, gentle extraction, aged in vats for 7 months. Bottled at the estate without fining or filtration, zero sulfite added.
Jean-Claude Lapalu
Jean-Claude Lapalu is a vigneron who works in harmony with nature, situated on the slopes of Brouilly since 1996. His 9-hectare estate is certified organic, even if he does not mark this on his labels. He also bottles his wines with next to no sulphur – just 1 g/hl. It would be easy to imagine then that some oenophiles might dismiss him as lazy tree hugger, and yet for some time now...
