A nose characteristic of the estate’s wines, with notes of strawberry, spices and thyme... Palate: fruity and easy drinking, a wine with strong identity, structure, volume and minerality… yet another faultless performance, Monsieur Maxime!
Maxime Magnon
Maxime Magnon: simply put, it’s he who restored the image of the Corbières appellation. Burgundy-born, in his forties, he’s worked in Villeneuve-les-Corbières since 2002. But before that, Maxime studied and trained at length alongside many of the greats: Thierry Allemand, Thierry Valette, Selosse... At his estate of around 12 hectares, the environment is respected, chemicals are banned, and cows and other animal helpers tend to the weeding and enrich the soils in the winter. His idea for animals in the vineyard came from a good friend and colleague Didier Barral. As for vinification, Magnon is of the Beaujolais school – whole cluster, carbonic maceration, low temperature, no additives, low sulphur at bottling, etc.… His juice is clean and precise, gourmand, and eminently drinkable. Wines of rare elegance for this appellation which has finally found its figurehead.
