A nose of red fruits, with notes of chalk and pink peppercorns... Splendid texture, all finesse and freshness, with a long, silky finish. An excellent introduction to the brilliance of the Trapets... A magnificent bottle!
Jean-Louis Trapet
Jean-Louis Trapet is part of a select circle of the 10 greatest vignerons of the Côte de Nuits. His family estate, founded by his great-grandfather in 1870, is composed of around 15 hectares of the most beautiful parcels around Gevrey. With his wife Andrée, the couple also runs an estate in Alsace, with 6 hectares near Riquewihr. Jean-Louis is a committed biodynamic winemaker, and is non-interventionist in the winery. His wines undergo long maturation, certain cuvées are vinified whole cluster and focused on fruit aromas. Other, more classic cuvées are made to best express the complexity of these legendary climats. A few words from Jean-Louis: “Wine is one of the most civilized things in existence. In my capacity as a wine grower, the path of gentleness and respect enables me to make my way towards the highest degree of expression of my soils.” The couple's two sons, Pierre and Louis, have followed in their parents' footsteps, and today produce some very fine juices under their own name, an estate to watch closely.
Undoubtedly one of the most complex bottles from the estate, a complete juice, voluminous, solid and eminently racy.
A massive wine, intense, rich and extremely concentrated... Palate: huge texture, with great depth, rich structure, and an endless finish.... A great, great bottle.
Undoubtedly one of the most complex bottles from the estate, a complete juice, voluminous, solid and eminently racy.
A blend of power, finesse and elegance like no other, with simply unbelievable body and length... A nose redolent of grapes, capturing the very spirit of Chambertin. The palate is suave and overall quite soft in the end.
Highly complex, evolving nose, initially revealing raspberry, cherry, and strawberry jam, then unfolding with layers of forest floor, oak, spice, leather, and a hint of vanilla. The palate is elegant, fleshy, lively, and fresh, with a long, savory finish.
A nose with expressive notes of blackcurrant, cherry, red plum, and peony... The palate is concentrated and intense, round, with a long and silky finish.
A profound nose with mineral notes, aromas of blackcurrant and blackberries, and hints of smoke. Delicate and vibrant, with melted tannins, this is an eminently drinkable wine. 1441 is the year of the consecration of the Saint Erhard chapel, built on the ramparts of the town of Riquewihr.
Highly complex, powerful and intense nose with notes of strawberry, crushed raspberry, which evolves towards notes of undergrowth, truffle, chalk, soft spices, a hint of mint. Precise juice with melted tannins, endless length.
A complexity that is difficult to synthesize, carried by red fruits, leather, undergrowth, truffles... Surely one of the most interesting bottles of the estate, a full, voluminous, solid and highly distinguished juice.
Fourth vintage of this 1859 cuvée, renewed since 2019, continuing to honor the Trapet family's 150 years of cultivation. Notes of red fruits, spice, and violet… Rounded, juicy palate with fine tannins and a beautiful, lingering finish.
It’s not the most powerful, but rather the finest, the most precise and refined. An unforgettable wine if you give it time to mature in you cellar... An infinite and indescribable aromatic palette.

Third vintage for this 1859 cuvée, renewed after the beauty of the 2019 wine and then the elegance of the 2020, which paid tribute to the 150 years of cultivation by the Trapets. On notes of red fruits, spices, violet... Spherical and juicy palate, fine tannins, beautiful length.
A nose of black fruit and spices... A top shelf Gevrey, complex, intense... The terroir is truly speaking here, raising this wine to a level of very great finesse.
Wild berries, cherry, leather, smoky notes, cocoa, cinnamon, prune... Ripe on the palate, this is an accomplished, complex wine (with that “wow” effect!) that already offers a slender and gracious body and great aromatic length.
The nose opens with a basket of fresh red fruits: cherry, strawberry, redcurrant, before evolving into notes of undergrowth, pepper and a hint of nutmeg. The palate is powerful, enveloping and very charming, although still in the fervor of its youth. Beautiful aging potential.
A subtle and complex wine, superb from start to finish. The nose boasts exotic buttery notes, with hints of smoke. The palate is smooth and rounded, while the finish is clean and marked by fine acidity.
A style identifiable by its softness, its roundness, its red fruit, its gentle attack and its length on the palate. Impeccable.
