Stéphane Erissé
Stéphane Érissé has been winemaking in Anjou since 2011, from a small clutch of vines: 3.5 hectares between Saint-Cyr-le-Bourg and Saint-Georges-sur-Layon. A non-interventionist vigneron who has banished all chemical products from his estate, Stéphane is winegrower of careful, meticulous workmanship – and charming sentiments. The estate carries the name of his grandmother. The style of his wines is contemporary, his white is rich yet precise, and his reds have lovely fruit flavours and fine tannins. They sometimes show an oxidative touch, which is not at all unpleasant. His Grolleau cuvée has become increasingly popular, though the quantities available are miniscule, so hurry! And one last note from his fine CV – Stéphane was trained by the excellent Antoine Foucault at Domaine du Collier, and he also worked for a time with our beloved Cyril Fhal.
