Jordi Perez
Jordi Perez, a young Catalonian, left his job at the town hall of Auch to pursue a degree in viticulture and oenology at Blanquefort in 2010. Over the following five years he would partake in wide diversity of internships: Grand Crus of Bordeaux such as Beychevelle, then large cooperatives in Saint-Chinian, Fitou, and also small estates like Perreou in Côtes de Gascogne... Finally, in March 2015, Jordi Perez took over the mythic estate of Alain Castex, Casot des Mailloles. His entire 5 ha of terroir in Banyuls had become too difficult to manage physically: heat, steep slopes, parcels impossible to work with machines... The handover thus went smoothly between the two men, who share a common approach and vision for the estate. And the result doesn't disappoint, this is as delicious and ultra-natural a juice as ever! You will find his bottles at Noma in Copenhagen or at the Relais d'Yves Camdeborde... Natural wine definitely has no borders... and neither does Jordi!
