Athénaïs De Béru
Athénaïs de Béru embodies an estate, a family, and four centuries of history. A history marked by forward thinking and innovation. Take her father, who in the 1980s decided to replant their entire historic estate, including the famous Clos Béru. A bold decision indeed, for the family had last grubbed up the vineyard after the phylloxera crisis – and hadn’t replanted since! Yes, the family had been living off the same vines since the 19thcentury! Athénaïs took over the reigns in 2003 and completed her first vinification in 2005. Athénaïs draws inspiration from biodynamics in her viticulture, and creates certain cuvées without sulphur. Since 2010, she also has developed and range of négotiant wines, whose quality increases annually. The wines of her estate enjoy huge commercial success, particularly abroad. Athénaïs’s is an estate open to the world, and open to visits, from their historic château to their charming chambres d'hôtes.

A wine at once generous, immediately pleasing, clean and precise, with notes of dried flowers and citrus fruits... A mineral and persistent palate, with a saline finish.
On notes of citrus fruits, fresh butter, gunflint, mineral backbone. A classic Chablis, very accessible, ideal for aperitif, at the same time luscious, sharp and saline.
The estate’s most mythic Chablis, this is an ultra complex, solar wine bristling with energy... Palate: beautiful complexity, intense, and ripe fruit flavours, this is mineralesque juice, with a long and persistent finish.
A powerful nose of roasted apricot, candied orange, honey, and Earl Grey tea... The palate is tangy and mineral, perfectly balanced with tannins that provide just the right structure to the aromatic intensity. A long, intense finish with fine bitterness—this cuvée is a true favorite.
Notes of vineyard peach, redcurrant, and dried flowers. The short maceration lends a delicate tannic texture, placing this wine at the intersection of orange and rosé. The palate is supple, with a persistent finish. Ariane is the daughter of Athénaïs and Antoine, born in June 2021.
