Niki Antadze

Niki Antadze is a leading figure in Georgian natural wine. A former nightclub owner, this remarkable character, as calm and gentle as a lamb, is now the head of a tiny estate with just three hectares of Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane and Saperavi located in Manavi, in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia. From his small vineyard of old vines (some of them more than 100 years old) planted at 750 metres altitude and overlooking the valley, Niki produces positively magical wines. He farms his vines organically, of course, macerates his white grapes for long periods in terracotta qvevri, employs ancestral Georgian vinification methods, i.e. “don’t touch the grapes or the juice, let nature do its work!”, and, naturally, uses zero additives or sulphur from start to finish... The cuvées from this vigneron are as rare as the emotions they inspire.
