An eminently mineral nose of flint stone, with lovely notes of white fruits like white peach and pear, with a hint of citrus. The palate is very intense, sapid and crisp, with fine acidity – a great success!
Antoine Gouffier
Antoine Gouffier, child of the 1985 vintage, is just a "local kid", as he likes to say. At the age of 21, he packed a bag and left for the United States, traveling from New York to California discovering all aspects of wine, from production to sales. His journey did not end there - he learned about winemaking in Argentina with Thierry Haberer, and continued his oenological explorations of the southern hemisphere with Duncan Savage in South Africa. In 2018, the opportunity arose to buy a piece of land "back home": the 10 hectares of Domaine du Bouchot in Pouilly-Fumé, farmed organically since 2009. Upon arrival, he began converting the vineyards to biodynamics, and today they’re certified by Demeter (and soon by Biodyvin). From his first vintage in 2020 his wine has been of such quality that the leading French trade magazine RVF named him “Discovery of the Year 2022”! ..."I am lucky enough to do the job I dreamed of as a child, so I make it a point of honour to draw the finest wines out of this estate I can.” Bravo Antoine!
