Pierre and Jean (as in Maupassant’s novel but better) Dietrich (phew!) are the two brothers at the head of Domaine Achillée in Alsace, which they took over in 2015 following their father Yves. They were already off to a very good start, since the entire estate has been cultivated biodynamically since 2003. 18 hectares preserved from chemicals located in Scherwiller, right between Strasbourg and Colmar. Jean takes care of the winemaking, still supported by Yves while Pierre, who comes from a management school, is responsible for the sales. A complementary dynamic duo, who also produces juices under the Pépin label, their qualitative trading. A few words from the winegrowers: “Bold and uncomplicated wines is what we want. For you and for us." What else?!

Superb emotion during this tasting, with a nose carried by notes of citrus fruits, exotic fruits, a little petrol characteristic of the grape variety, for true Riesling fans! Elegant palate, big tension and minerality, long and saline finish.

Real love for this cuvée! Strawberry and crushed raspberry, black cherry, rose water, coffee, undergrowth, chocolate orangette… Pure, tannic and mineral palate, lifted by a hint of acidity, a highly digestible red wine. Worth decanting.
