Notes of tart cherry, strawberry, nutmeg and a hint of mushroom and undergrowth. Palate: drinkable mouthfeel, controlled acidity, fine finesse, long, subtly peppery finish.
Mélissa Bazin and Romain de Moor
Mélissa Bazin and Romain De Moor are at the helm of the young estate La Petite Empreinte, with a first vintage vinified in 2020. Well... first in their own name! Indeed, Mélissa who is originally from the Drôme, took her first steps in the wine world thanks to the work of Gérald Oustric, before starting her work-study diploma at Domaine Labet in the Jura. There, she met Romain, who at the time was learning the ropes at Ganevat’s, after seasons with Lapierre and Fabien Jouves, and a childhood spent in the vineyards with his parents at De Moor’s. In 2020, they took over 0.76 ha of vines in production, in the commune of Saint-Bris-le-Vineux. There, they began organic conversion, planted trees for an agro-forestry approach... The same logic applies to the winery: beautiful grapes so as to intervene as little as possible during vinification, in short, well-crafted juices from a small-scale estate. Petite Empreinte means Small Footprint, but for Greater Emotions !
